Daredevil is home. After a three-episode Netflix run, Hell’s Kitchen vigilante lawyer – real name Matt Murdock – is back in the Marvelverse in an acclaimed Disney+ reboot that sees him back on the streets of the Big Apple and taking very few prisoners.
Daredevil: Born Again reunites Murdock with his old pals Karen (Deborah Ann Woll) and Foggy (Elden Henson), as well as an old foe in Vincent D’Onofrio’s Wilson Fisk, now trying to bring a veneer of legitimacy to his sinister Kingpin alter ego by running for mayor.
The show delivers sonically, too. The Newton Brothers follow up X-Men '97 with another moody Marvel theme and the soundtrack is turning into a noughties indie kid’s dream. TV on the Radio, The Vines and The Kills? Could almost be the index of ‘Meet Me in the Bathroom’.
Portland’s TENTS and Stephin Merritt’s alt-rock legends The Magnetic Fields also feature in the first two episodes. We’ll keep the list updates as the show drops but here’s the playlist so far:
