Time Out, famously, is an office of music lovers. That’s why working with Samsung to find the world’s best budding musicians felt like a meeting of minds. It just worked. Like David Bowie and Mick Jagger or Kylie and Robbie. Here, we’re shedding light on a few of our global faves.

1. HiTech

What makes them special?: This high-energy trio of MC/producers King Milo and Milf Melly and DJ 47Chops are absolutely destroying the dancefloors of Detroit right now. Seeing HiTech live is like being blasted into the atmosphere to a soundtrack of house, rap, Miami bass and Chicago footwork. Expect moshpits, drinks in the air and plenty of havoc when catching them live.

2. SANAM

What makes them special?: SANAM are a Lebanese six-piece who describe themselves as ‘free rock’ and ‘post-folk’. Formed out of individuals all well-established in Beirut’s independent music scene, SANAM’s debut album last year, Aykathani Malakon [Awoken by an Angel], combines experimental rock, spacious ambient and Arabic/Taraab music styles for a record as luscious and pretty as it is tense and ominous.

3. TraTraTrax

What makes them special?: This Colombian label blasted its way into the collective consciousness of electronic music heads in 2022 after releasing Latin house banger ‘Xtasis’, by the label’s founder Nick Léon. Since then, the crew of party starters have travelled the globe blasting out everything from house and techno to reggaeton and guaracha, and all sorts in between. Can’t quite get what they’re saying when their on the mic? You can live translate with the Samsung Galaxy Buds3 Pro*.

4. Kneecap

What makes them special?: Kneecap are political by nature, as they choose to rap in their native Irish language and have songs titled ‘Get Your Brits Out’. Nevertheless, the trio of rappers Mo Chara, Móglaí Bap and DJ Próvaí bring fun vibes to their party-ready anthems with ravey beats and catchy choruses. They’re poised to play their biggest show yet at the SSE Arena, Belfast this December – it’s sure to be a monumental event.

5. Isabella Lovestory

What makes them special?: This Hondrean-born Latin-infused star makes fiery reggaeton with metallic-adjacent synths and pop-y hooks with a DIY sensibility which will get your hips shaking and your foot tapping. Of course, you can translate what she’s saying, as she’s saying it, with your Samsung Galaxy Buds3 Pro.
