Now entering its third year, this bumper German weekender is a family-friendly affair taking over the city’s lakeside Olympic park. The programming is full of crowd-pleasers  – last year saw the likes of Raye, Martin Garrix and Jason Derulo take to the stage – but it’s also an exercise in making a site work to its absolute potential (it was designed to hold 50,000 punters, after all). Cumbria, England. August 23-25

Micro-festivals are really having a moment in the UK at the moment. Krankenhaus, run and curated by Sea Power and with a capacity of only around 750, allows you to party with the dramatic backdrop of the West Lake District – offering alt-rock bands as well as film screenings, poetry recitals and book readings. It’s a reasonably civilised affair, too, with performances winding down early enough to ensure a decent night’s sleep – or almost guarantee it by wearing your Buds with Active Noise Cancellation as you drift off.

This small independent dance and arts camping festival takes place over the Easter weekend, around 70 minutes north of Melbourne. The lineup is a mix of international and local names – the 2024 edition saw the likes of Chloé Robinson, House Mum, Tama Sumo and Lakuti take to the stage – and the focus is on creating a community and building connections, so you’ll be sure to meet some like-minded punters and create memories to last a lifetime.

Following a successful debut in April 2023, this epic hip hop festival is returning to Thailand in November featuring some of the biggest names on the scene and top-quality production (we’re talking pyrotechnics, huge sound systems and fireworks to boot). The 2023 edition saw the likes of Travis Scott, Cardi B, Offset, Central Cee and Lil Uzi Vert perform alongside up-and-coming Asian hip hop artists to rave reviews, so you can bet this year is going to be just as good.
