Scandi countries are a bucket-list item for loads of us, but they have a reputation for being pretty damn expensive – both to get to and once you’re there. So when a new, affordable flight deal pops up best believe that Time Out is going to let you know about it.

Last month, Jet2 announced that it would be travelling to the Norwegian city of Bergen for the first time in 15 years. Never heard of Bergen? Well, it’s got access to Norway’s world-famous fjords, a spectacular mountainous backdrop and an historic harbour district that happens to be a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The new routes are from Bristol, Edinburgh and London Stansted. We’re not just talking about flights, either. The airline is offering entire packages to Bergen, which include 22kg hold luggage, accommodation ranging from three to four stars, a full-day tour featuring a boat trip along the Aurlandsfjord and Nærøyfjord from Flam to Gudvangem, and a mountain railway journey to Myrdal.

And even more Jet2 routes to Bergen will kick off over the next 12 months. Thanks to an ‘incredible’ response from customers and independent travel agents, the airline will be offering trips to the city from four more airports from April 2025. Those will be from Birmingham, Manchester, Newcastle and Leeds Bradford.

Prices for the Jet2 Bergen packages start at £719 per person and you can find out more on the Jet2 website here
